Thailand is a tropical country with a warm climate all year round. The average temperature ranges from +25 to +35°C, but weather conditions depend on the season and region.

Seasons:

Dry season (November–April)

The most comfortable time for a vacation: low rainfall, temperatures between +28 and +33°C, and a pleasant breeze. This is the peak tourist season.

Hot season (March–May)

Temperatures reach +35 to +40°C, especially in the central and northern regions. The heat is more bearable on the coast thanks to the sea breeze.

Rainy season (May–October)

During this period, there are short but heavy tropical showers, especially in June–September. However, the rains usually pass quickly, leaving behind fresh air.

FOOD AND DRINKS

Cuisine and dishes:

Thai cuisine combines spicy, sweet and sour, and savory flavors. Popular dishes:

Photography and behavior in public:

- It is prohibited to photograph the royal family, military facilities, and government institutions. Violations may result in serious penalties.

- In Thailand, it is not customary to show aggression or raise your voice.

CURRENCY

The national currency is the Thai baht (THB), 1 baht = 100 satang. It is best to exchange currency at banks or official exchange offices.

LANGUAGE

The official language is Thai. Thais speak English in tourist areas.

SPECIAL ENTRY AND EXIT RULES 

Charter flights: if a tourist arrives on a charter flight, they must depart on the same carrier or on a regular flight.

Scheduled flights: you can leave the country on any scheduled flight.

Important information! It is prohibited to store, carry, and use electronic cigarettes and their analogues. Violation of the law is punishable by a fine of up to 1 million baht or imprisonment (up to 10 years).

 

Visas and entry rules

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure from Thailand.

Starting May 1, 2025, the entry procedure for all foreign nationals, including citizens of Kazakhstan, is changing. Instead of the traditional paper arrival card TM.6, it is now required to complete a digital arrival card (Thailand Digital Arrival Card, TDAC).

 

How and when to fill out TDAC

The TDAC can be completed no earlier than three days before your intended date of arrival.
For example, if you plan to arrive in Thailand on May 5, you can start filling out the form on May 2.

The form is available on the official portal of the Thai Immigration Bureau.

You can complete it individually or for an entire group of travelers. Changes to the information can be made at any time before departure. The form requires the following information:

  • passport details;
  • personal information;
  • purpose and details of the trip;
  • address of stay in Thailand;
  • a brief medical declaration.

Who is exempt from completing TDAC

  • passengers transiting through Thailand without passing through passport control
  • passengers entering with a Border Pass
Customs regulations

- The import and export of large sums of money, jewelry, and other valuable items should be clarified with the embassy or consulate.

- The transport of alcohol and tobacco is strictly regulated—details at www.customs.go.th.

- There is a penalty for exceeding the import limits for tobacco and alcohol products.
